Interesting [Computer] Behavior
One reason why I’m paranoid.
In an effort to facilitate communications, I broke one of my own rules regarding computers. I installed a Microsoft product on one of my machines. It was only a 30-day demo. Just so I could test a technique in synchronizing computers over a network.
Now, I notice that the machine is behaving ‘oddly’. Every now and then it the cursor will stop moving. Despite my best efforts at unplugging the USB connection, hitting keys, etc., etc., etc., it will not move. I have to force quit/relaunch Finder. [Note: For the uninformed, this means I run with Macs.] Then I can regain control of my machine.
In the meantime, my ethernet hub lights are blinking furiously.
Could it be that Microsoft’s demo-ware also comes with some spy-ware enclosed?
As the saying goes…that’s not a ‘bug’, that’s a ‘feature’.
< Heavy sigh…. >
