You’re Invited! A Public Forum on Curbside Recycling

This just in from City-County Health. Forum will be Saturday from 10 am til noon at the main library.

  The 2010 Commission is hosting a Public Forum to discuss Curbside Recycling in the City of Pueblo.  Whether you live in the City or County of Pueblo your input is encouraged.

This is a Forum for citizen input and participation.

Latter this week I will email a flyer to you for this Forum that you may print to post or share in your community.

Attendance at this Forum will demonstrate support for recycling to our community leaders.

   Attendance at which will not necessarily “demonstrate support”. You might also demonstrate a lot of other things, e.g., a critical thought process that does not necessarily take everything at “face value”. You might even demonstrate outright <horror!> opposition to the proposal.

   The point is this….everyone is going to be affected by this. One way or another. Therefore, everyone should get involved.

   Personally? I support the concept of recycling. Indeed, I practice it every day. However, I get a bit concerned when people tell me I have to give them good money in order to do that which should be economically feasible. That is when I start asking ‘critical’, not necessarily criticizing, but important, questions about what is driving all of this and who is going to, ultimately, benefit.
