Schedule of Events for Historic Pueblo, Inc.

Historic Pueblo, Inc. is a non-profit preservation organization that works closely with the City of Pueblo’s Historic Preservation Commission.  Historic Pueblo, Inc was established in 2002 with a vision to become a complete resource for guidance, and for understanding the complexities and challenges of preserving Pueblo’s history in the midst of our community’s growth.  HPI is commited to the concept that community pride and an atmosphere for prosperous economic development must include the preservation of our historic structures and cultural heritage.
HPI is a fun and involved organization that helps to keep preservation in focus for our citizens, city and city officials.  HPI assists in purchasing National Historic Registry Plaques, purchases Pueblo Landmark Plaques, and sponsors the Historic Resource of Pueblo Plaque Program.  We sponsor educational forums, receptions at historic homes, walking tours of the Northside and Southside of Pueblo, an annual October Historic Pueblo Home Tour and our December Orman-Adams tour membership drive To see Schedule of Events, click “more”

Wed, Jan. 9, 2008 Short business meeting and “Undecorate” Orman-Adams Mansion.

Mon. Feb. 4, 2008 Identifying Your Home’s Architecture/Historic Paint Pallets
Southern Colorado Heritage Center, 5pm – Wes Burrer.

Mon. Mar 3, 2008 Meet at St. Mary’s Genealogy Center for presentation by staff.
Dinner at Eiler’s after presentation (dutch treat). 
This meeting is on a Monday for the convenience of staff.

Mon. Apr 7, 2008 Alison Cook of Wells Fargo Mortgage will give a presentation
about their product “Renovation Loans.”  Learn how you can
purchase an older home and borrow enough money to
restore and renovate your home.

Fri. May 2, 2008 Friday evening reception to honor the landmarking of the
McCarthy-Farley home, 529 Colorado Avenue.  Our hosts
are John and Betti Marvel.  See this lovely turn of the
century foursquare which is nearly untouched by time.

Fri. June 6, 2008 Colorado Preservation, Inc, and HPI joint fundraiser “History and Happy Hour” at the Morey Bernstein Home.

Mon. July 7, 2008 Meeting for upcoming Fall events at the Southeastern
Colorado Heritage Center.

Mon. Aug 4, 2008 Meeting for upcoming Fall events at the Southeastern
Colorado Heritage Center.

Fri. Sept 5, 2008 Friday evening Plaque Reception, 5pm – 7:30pm.  Tentatively
scheduled to be held at the Sweeny Feed Mill.  This information
will be updated when plans are firm.

Mon. Sept 29, 2008 Meeting for upcoming Fall events at the Southeastern
Colorado Heritage Center
Sun. Oct 5, 2008 Historic Home Tour.

Mon. Nov 3, 2008 Meet at the Southeastern Colorado Heritage Center – finalize
plans for December Orman-Adams Mansion Tour and Member-
ship drive.

Thurs. Dec 4, 2008 Orman-Adams Mansion Tour.
