A motion was made to accept the slate of officers as stated by Mary Ann and was seconded by Sondra Biddle. There was no discussion and the motion was approved and carried.
EASTSIDE CONTEXT STUDY
Wade Broadhead announced that he was finalizing applying for a grant to fund this study. The East side of Pueblo is a haven for wonderful homes and was populated by many business persons in early Pueblo.
NORTHSIDE HISTORIC DISTRICT
The District passed the Historic Preservation Commission and now goes before Planning and
Zoning and finally the City Council. Large numbers of people need to be present for the Council meeting to show our support for the District. Wade will email Laurel as to the exact date of the meeting. He will also provide some copies of the emails and letters that he has been collecting from other cities in Colorado which discuss the great success of historic districts elsewhere in our state.
Chuck Pelto mentioned that one way to become a stronger voice is to get involved in your neighborhood association. He stressed the need to be organized.
Laurel announced that the Chieftain will be distributing a special “poster” on Mineral Palace Park with newly discovered pictures of MPP. We were offered an anchor ad for $300.00. The size is 5” x 15” and will be designed by Bob Campbell. It will advertise our Mansion Tour. The issue that it will be in is either November 17th or 18th.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned to enjoy a tour of the Fire Museum.
Respectfully submitted,
Laurel Campbell
